Until yesterday, we were holding an order event for Yamauchi's 2025 Spring/Summer collection, and next up is COTTLE.
The event will run for a total of nine days from Saturday, August 24th to Sunday, September 1st.

COTTLE consists of these two collection series.
Currently, we carry CTL DENIM from the "UNIFORM FOR LIVING" line of products.
This is COTTLE's only ready-to-wear lineup, and all other collection series are made to order within Japan.
The reason is that it is a brand that is run on the idea of "delivering only what is needed to those who need it."
To me, COTTLE's Watanabe is a legend.
He is a man whose achievements are talked about at the "upstream" company in Kojima's clothing industry, where he once worked.
COTTLE is a gallery shop and atelier.
He currently has an atelier in Kojima, Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, where he creates highly unique clothing .

The idea is to "create what you think by yourself."
The idea is to "make clothes as a handicraft that embodies the spirit of folk art."
A very limited variety of fabrics are available, and special areas are "dyed" to give you choice.
However, the fabric is of ultra-high quality, "seemingly ignoring market conventions."
I also think that the design and specifications of the clothes are far from "normal."
The idea of "the responsibility of the creator" supports the creation of these clothes and is an extremely central pillar of the brand.
That is why much of the collection is not ready-made clothing, but made to order.

What these two have in common is that they are made from COTTLE original fabrics produced by our company, Kaneta Orimono.
This collection of two breathtaking fabrics.
"LEAF VEIN".
"GOLDEN WHEAT FIELD CORDUROY".
Seriously, these two are awesome.
"LEAF VEIN" expresses an organic appearance like leaf veins.
The mix ratio of the fabric is
100-count single-yarn Hardman's Hemp 37%
80 count double-ply Ultimate Pima Cotton 33%
21d/8 raw silk 30%
The composition is as follows.
<100-count single-yarn Hardman's Hemp>
Hardman's hemp is fine, with a count of 60 or more, and is given the title of Gold Label, but COTTLE uses an extremely fine hemp count of 100 for the weft .
Among plant fibers, it is said that it is very difficult to create thin threads from hemp, requiring advanced spinning techniques.
Among them, high-quality raw materials grown without pesticides and capable of being spun to 100 count are extremely rare.
This yarn can be called a fine product only thanks to the value of the materials and the skill and know-how of the spinning craftsmen.
Using Hardman's hemp as the weft thread gives the fabric a comfortable fit suited to Japan's hot and humid climate, as well as a beautiful grain pattern and firmness.
The warp threads are set with Ultimate Pima cotton and raw silk .

Ultimate Pima cotton is a high-value cotton source and is the only variety in the world grown at Dorsey Alvarez Farm in the United States.
Compared to other organic cottons, in addition to the good texture of the raw materials, it is also strong and less likely to harden over time.
This is "specialty cotton" among the cotton cultivated by Dorsey Alvarez, and it was a perfect fit for the idea of beauty over time that COTTLE aims for.

The raw silk used as the warp thread is also 21d/8 .
This translates to 253 count and 8 strands of cotton.
The inclusion of raw silk gives the fabric a glossy finish and moisturizing properties.
However, LEAF VEIN's fabric is woven on Kaneta Orimono's shuttle loom.
Silk at the "raw silk" stage, which is rarely used in the clothes we see every day, is constantly at risk of thread breakage when loomed on a powerful shuttle loom.
During the development stage, it was thought that it would be impossible to weave raw silk on a shuttle loom, but it was made possible thanks to Kaneta Orimono's advanced technical skills.
Even so, every time a thread breaks, the loom must be stopped and the incredibly thin raw silk must be reconnected by hand.
Apparently, they managed to use raw silk, albeit at great expense, by having craftsmen stay constantly at the shuttle loom and stop the loom.
Each of the three materials is woven into an ultra original fabric with a fine, precise texture.
The warp threads are made of alternating raw silk and Ultimate Pima.
The thing that shines vertically is raw silk.
Next to it, which looks ivory, is the double-thread Ultimate Pima.
"LEAF VEIN" is a piece in which three materials are arranged in an incredibly beautiful way.
This fabric has a very deep look, but it also feels wonderful against the skin and is very comfortable to wear.

SenkohSuiu: Creating fabrics that don't exist in the world from scratch

There is a difference.
Among them, GOLDEN WHEAT FIELD CORDUROY has the look of authentic corduroy.
However, this is a completely new corduroy that does not exist anywhere in the world.
The GOLDEN WHEAT FIELD CORDUROY that COTTLE aimed for is as follows:
"Lightweight, soft, lustrous and durable, authentic wale corduroy made from 100% organic cotton."
"Lightweight, soft, shiny, and durable" are contradictory requirements for corduroy, and normally it would be difficult to achieve all of these.
This is because, due to its ridged nature, making it "lighter and softer" means lowering its density, which leads to shedding, a decrease in luster, and reduced durability.
On the other hand, if you focus on "improving gloss and durability," lightness and softness will decrease.
Furthermore, among cotton fabrics, corduroy is unique in its production process and characteristics, and currently there are only a few "fixed" corduroy fabric weaves, making it difficult to develop new weaves.
That's why COTTLE's GOLDEN WHEAT FIELD CORDUROY is amazing.

The result is "authentic wale corduroy made from 100% organic cotton that is light, soft, shiny and durable."
The composition is 100% cotton.
However, it uses two types of cotton.
The warp thread is made of Shankar organic cotton (approximately 30%).
The weft thread is made of Ultimate Pima cotton (approximately 70%), the same as LEAF VEIN.
Of the fabric, 30% and 70% cotton are used, respectively, which means that there is significantly more cotton used in the weft than in the warp.
Through development with Kaneta Orimono, COTTLE was able to create the ideal corduroy by lowering the warp density and significantly increasing the weft density.
Currently, even if one looks around the world, there is no original corduroy at all, but COTTLE has overcome very difficult hurdles and created a completely new corduroy that has an authentic look.
In that sense, GOLDEN WHEAT FIELD CORDUROY may also belong to "SenkouSuiu".
The brand definition of "SenkohSuiu" is to express the unexpected encounters and beauty in everyday life through sight and touch, and to embody these by incorporating artistic and craft elements.
