"New" SLEEVELESS SHIRT

Today I'd like to introduce the new sleeveless piece I announced.

This is seriously, I think it's something good.

For me, it's like a revolution has started. For me.

・It's very cool

・Super airy

・It doesn't sag at all and can be washed easily

・No innerwear look

・Unbelievable

The new SLEEVELESS has all five of these divine elements.

Or rather, if you think about it, it's "God SLEEVELESS". lol

As I mentioned the other day, I needed a SLEEVELESS that would go beyond the SLEEVELESS I had known up until then.

And I believe we have been able to achieve that.

this.

OLDE HOMESTEADER × CASANOVA&CO

SLEEVELESS SHIRT

this.

As mentioned above, there are three colors available.

Actually, originally we had planned to only produce two colors, black and white, but for various reasons, ECRU was also included.

Only sizes 38 and 42 are available.

But I still think that "BLACK" is the most outstanding piece.

First of all, as we have already announced, this SLEEVELESS is different from previous models in terms of "fabric," "shape," and "production site."

All new.

First, about the fabric.

this.

The brand released this item under the name "EXTRA COTTON JERSEY."

The same fabric as Y NECK LONG SLEEVE and CARDIGAN products.

We still sell the above items in our store, and I myself have a Y NECK LONG SLEEVE.

This fabric first came out about two years ago.

I still have the Y-NECK LONG SLEEVE from that time, and it's very comfortable to wear.

However, these days, I have so many other things to wear that I've been wearing these Y NECK LONG SLEEVE shirts, which are commonly called pajamas, at home.

As you would expect with this kind of work, your collection of clothes increases and you end up with some clothes that you don't wear.

But I wanted to wear OLDE HOMESTEADER's Y NECK LONG SLEEVE because it was so comfortable, so I wore it next to my bare skin after taking a bath.

Then I found it to be extremely comfortable to wear while sleeping.

What's more, it was extremely cool.

At that time, as I wrote in my blog the other day, I was running into some problems that I had been having with SLEEVELESS up until that point.

So, I felt the Y NECK LONG SLEEVE on my bare skin,

"If I were to create a more improved version of SLEEVELESS based on what I think, I could make something pretty good."

That's what I thought. To put it very simply.

So we asked Mr. Fukuhara from OLDE HOMESTEADER to help us, and this is what we have created.

"New" SLEEVELESS SHIRT.

This BLACK.

If you look closely at the photo, can you see some faintly orange threads and fibers?

Usually, "black fabric," especially when it is 100% cotton, refers to "fabric dyeing," which means that whitish "fabric" can be dyed black.

I'm sure many of you already know this, but when dyeing is done at the fabric stage it is called "ato-zome" (piece dyeing).

In my opinion, most 100% cotton black fabrics in the world are "piece-dyed" black.

But this is not the case.

As you can see from the photo above, it comes in "black", "orange" and I think charcoal?

It is "yarn-dyed black" knitted using these three colors of fibers.

That's why I think it's a colour that is uniquely more masculine than regular 100% cotton black.

The way this black looks is totally different.

And that thread.

It uses really yaba yaba thread.

Or rather, it's an original thread that Fukuhara makes.

This is no joke.

This is an "original thread" that is never distributed in the regular market.

I really, really want to tell you, but I can't because I'm not allowed to write about it on the blog, but it's a dangerous thread.

That's why I wanted to use the thread that Fukuhara made to create something ideal for myself, and I'm very happy that this has now come to fruition.

Furthermore, this fabric.

This is what you see from the table.

This is what it looks like from the back.

Can you see that the texture is slightly different on the front and back?

This fabric is a "double weave."

The knitting patterns are different on the front and back.

The outer surface is made of plain weave, a material commonly used for T-shirts.

The lining is made of a 'kanoko' texture that is commonly used for polo shirts.

Because the outer layer is jersey and the inner layer is twill, it is possible to make it relatively thin, making it very comfortable to wear.

Typically, heavy, tough fabrics for T-shirts are made with a tight weave, known as domoku.

This is called "Dotsume".

Of course, if clothes meant to keep you cool in the summer are tightly woven, they're going to be hot.

However, if the fabric is not woven tightly, it will often become wrinkled and stretchy quickly after repeated washing.

However, the fabric made by Fukuhara of OLDE HOMESTEADER has a looser weave in the jersey knit on the front, creating gaps that allow the breeze to pass through comfortably, while the twill weave on the back provides firm support and prevents the fabric from sagging.

This is a strong fabric.

What's more, there's no need to worry about it being see-through even if you wear it alone next to your skin.

So it's very, very reassuring in the middle of summer.

Next, about the shape.

As before, the neck opening is not deep, giving a comfortable feeling as if you were wearing a T-shirt.

The neckline design of this garment is an old-fashioned one that is rarely seen these days.

The neckline has a clean finish yet is very beautiful.

In addition, while previous SLEEVELESS SHIRT designs had visibly exposed stitching on the front, this one is less visible.

This has implications, but I can’t say it on a blog.

When you look at this photo, it really feels like the wind is passing through your body.

Look forward to it.

I think the back neck is also relatively high.

And this time, a very big theme for me was "eliminating the feeling of inner self."

To achieve this, the shoulder width measurement had to be revised.

Although it is not the pattern dimensions, when I compare it to the previous SLEEVELESS that I own, even though it is the same size, the shoulder width is about 7cm wider.

I think this makes it look more like a sleeveless garment.

The edges of the fabric at the shoulders are also slightly puffy, just like the neck.

This also has a very important meaning.

And I believe that this will ultimately be a great benefit to all who own it.

Armhole.

The armholes are a much larger size than previous SLEEVELESS models.

I asked Fukuhara to make a sample for me, and I tried wearing it for a while around March, but the armholes were really small, so I decided to ask them to lower the armpit position, called the kama bottom, a little more.

The plan was to lower the bottom by 1cm, but Fukuhara, who is very familiar with this fabric, looked again at our requests and the overall dimensional balance, and ultimately decided that the bottom of the flap would be 0.5cm lower than the sample.

Like our previous products, this new SLEEVELESS needs to be washed in water before wearing, but even so, some people may be concerned about the tightness of the neck and the smallness of the armholes at first.

I myself was a little confused by the initial tightness of the neck and the way it crept into the sides of the armholes.

but,,,

but,,,,

Believe me.

If you are planning to wear the new SLEEVELESS three times and then be done with it, you don't need to choose this one.

We would be delighted if those who plan to wear it a lot starting this summer, and also those who plan to wear this SLEEVELESS next year and the year after, would pick it up.

Taking into consideration heavy use and the passage of time, Fukuhara has determined the best neck and armhole dimensions.

Also, by the way, this "new" SLEEVELESS will be a one-off this year.

This is the first and last sleeveless piece.

So, if you are considering it, please choose it with positivity and no regrets.

And the back.

The contrast between the fabric and sewing thread seen from the back.

Seriously, I think it's cool.

As far as I know, the new SLEEVELESS is being made in a sewing factory that is known as the best in the world when it comes to sewing cut and sewn clothing.

I feel truly honored that these people were able to sew this SLEEVELESS for me.

I had met this person for the first time in Tokyo before, but I wasn't able to say hello at the time, and when I realized later that it was him, I was overcome with a wave of regret.

A legend in Japan's cut and sew industry.

Of course we can't disclose who is sewing it, but the stitching is that amazing.

And it makes perfect sense.

That's why this sleeveless look is so awesome.

Double stitching is visible on the front and stretch stitching is visible on the back.

The fabric itself is 100% cotton, the sewing thread, front and back, are all 100% cotton .

The fact that even the sewing thread is 100% cotton has a great advantage in terms of comfort, not just when the garment is new, but once it is worn.

There is no discomfort whatsoever and it feels like it blends into the skin.

It truly is an extremely stress-free experience.

And that too...

I can't say for sure what it is specifically, but it's "not ordinary cotton thread."

I don't think you'll often come across a tank top in this category of clothing with such high level of sewing.

And this.

I think I've already done it 9 times?

Something to wash and wear.

The neck and armholes are comfortable, and since I wear it every day, I'm already hooked on how airy and incredibly cool it is.

So, if possible, I would like everyone to wear it.

It may be difficult to tell the difference when viewed alone, so please compare it with a new item.

The one on top is the new one.

The bottom piece has been washed nine times and is still being worn.

The sewing thread itself tightens, and the width of the neckline stitching narrows as it adjusts, stretching the neck to fit the size of the wearer's head and neck.

The neck opening is just right, but I think it looks sharp when worn.

Armhole.

Here too the width of the seam allowance changes sharply.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but the parts sewn with cotton thread stretch well and the armholes open just right.

This is something that feels really good.

For the 9th load of laundry, if my wife hasn't finished running the washing machine when I get home, I put the clothes in a laundry net and put them in the washing machine.

I had already finished washing the clothes and was running the dryer, but I didn't want to waste water by using the washing machine again, so I had no choice but to wash them by hand.

It's okay to just have it washed without worrying about anything.

When comparing a new garment with one that has been washed nine times, the numbers show that the neck and armholes open appropriately, and as a result, the garment does not shrink or become smaller overall.

At first, it seemed like the fabric had shrunk a little after washing it once or twice, but as I wore it, I realized that the numbers Fukuhara had come up with were the best balance, imagining what would happen after.

The measurement values are listed below for your reference.

<New SLEEVELESS size 38 *Brand new and unwashed>

Shoulder width: 35.5cm

Underarm width: 46cm

Armhole (straight line from shoulder to bottom of arm): 17.5cm

Back length: 60cm

Top width: 13.5cm

<New SLEEVELESS size 38 *Wash once>

Shoulder width: 34cm

Underarm width: 42cm

Armhole (straight line from shoulder to bottom of arm): 16.5cm

Back length: 58.5cm

Top width: 13cm

<New SLEEVELESS size 38 *Washed 9 times>

Shoulder width: 36cm

Underarm width: 47cm

Armhole (straight line from shoulder to bottom of arm): 19cm

Back length: 60cm

Top width: 17cm

Those are the actual numbers.

After washing it nine times, it will be pretty much set, so there won't be any major changes from here on out.

And here she is actually wearing it.

She is 167cm tall and weighs 52kg, her smallest size being 38.

What do you think??

It doesn't really feel like an inner layer.

The shoot was done exactly the way I normally wear it, so it's tucked in, but I think the length is just right.

Araki Yuu's knickerbockers is also great.

By the way, With the idea of wearing it on its own in mind, we made the length a little longer than our previous sleeveless dress.

I think the shoulder width is determined by how it looks as "sleeveless clothing" rather than as "innerwear."

My shoulders are quite broad for my height, so I think that for someone with a similar build, it just feels more like a sleeveless top.

The armholes are not loose and fit just right.

This is what happens after wearing and washing it nine times.

I think it will create the best balance for the wearer.

COTTLE jeans have evolved.

Ever since I was in my 20s, I've always admired the style of wearing a hat, jeans, and a tank top.

I already had the IRIES HM summer hat that I wear every day and the COTTLE jeans that I think are the best in the world, so I was finally able to get them.

This summer, we can finally make that happen.

And this is WHITE.

It says WHITE but it's light grey.

This is brand new and has only been washed once to make it wearable.

I've been wearing Ultra pants lately, they're divine pants from nonnotte.

Sugihara-san (nonnotte designer) is also really amazing.

I think it's great as an inner layer, and for those who buy it and don't mind showing their arms, I'd be very happy if you could use it as a "sleeveless outer layer" by itself.

By the way, ECRU only produced sizes 38 and 42, which is such a small number that I don't have any opportunity to wear them myself, so I didn't take any photos of them.

If you are interested, please provide an image.
