Hello.
I'm Noguchi from CASANOVA&CO.
Today, I'd like to introduce a new delivery from HERILL.
When you think of HERILL, you probably think of their cashmere products, such as the cashmere denim and Golden Cashmere series we introduced in the 25AW season last year, or items with denim or military-style processing and paint.
In that sense, the series I'm introducing today is a "dark horse."
It might be rude to call it a dark horse, but among the nearly 130 items that Oshima-san controls by himself, this series looks particularly ordinary.
However, once you wear it, that image changes completely by 180 degrees.
It has an extraordinary comfort and a character that is unmistakably HERILL, without being overly elaborate.
It's certainly not a strong statement piece of clothing, but I think you'll instantly understand its greatness once you try it on.

The black setup I'm wearing.
It looks quite ordinary, but the comfort is absolutely incredible.
I seriously think you'll be moved by it.
What makes it possible is
the process of "using fabric with a shrinkage rate of 15% or more and product washing it."

This is a close-up photo of the fabric.
You can see that the surface has an uneven texture.
This is evidence that the fabric has shrunk due to product washing.
And these irregularities create the "stretchiness" and "non-stickiness" that lead to its unique comfort.

The product wash shrinks the fabric, creating an uneven texture, and these irregularities produce natural elasticity.
This gives you a slight sensation of the fabric moving with your body when you move.
This slight sensation is very important.

The same goes for the pants.
The material is 100% wool; it doesn't contain polyurethane or anything similar, and since it's obviously woven fabric, it won't stretch like a rubber band.
However, this subtle stretchiness carries benefits that can only be created through product washing of this fabric.

That benefit is that "the seams also move with the fabric's stretch."
In other words, while fabric that has been made stretchy by blending in polyurethane acts like a "bone" that stops the stretch at the seams, clothes that have been made stretchy by shrinking them after sewing allow the seams to move and respond to the stretch as well.
Therefore, even when you wear the jacket and roll your shoulders forward as shown in the photo, the seams do not pull, and the garment follows your body naturally.

Furthermore, the "silhouette lift" that occurs when only the fabric stretches against the seams that are restricted by sewing is completely absent.
Therefore, it maintains the inherent beauty of the garment's lines while ensuring a range of motion that does not hinder body movement, not through pattern changes, but through other means.
I believe this is the reason for its "unordinary comfort."
Well, I've talked a lot of complicated things, but for now, just try it on.
"This is perfect for a spring/summer set-up."
That's what you'll be saying.
If you're someone who can handle work in a slightly more casual jacket and trousers, it will surely become an excellent companion.

The jacket is fully lined.
The difference in shrinkage rates between the outer wool tropical and the 100% cupro lining is extraordinary, so normally the lining would droop and stick out, creating a disaster. However, we dealt with it by using a "forceful method" of adjusting the lining's dimensions after washing. (laughs)
It might sound like we're forcing it to work, but to make that forceful method successful, it requires repeated testing and Oshima-san's indispensable experience.
He's a designer who has created a variety of clothing over a long career, and above all, he handles everything from design to production management for all of HERILL's items by himself. So I think he must have repeatedly gained experience in clearing the "points that must be made to work" in production.
It's like an "instinct for victory" or a "practical sense" when it comes to making clothes.
Although it's something I can only imagine, I believe the reason why HERILL's clothes are unconsciously worn more frequently is that they are created by an accumulation of such points and have an aspect that caters to the wearer.
Therefore, I think clothes that appear ordinary like these are perfect for experiencing the charm of HERILL.

Neither the top nor the bottom is too thin or too thick.
Not too big, not too small.
A perfectly authentic balance.

This perfect balance.
If the pants were too wide or too narrow, or the jacket was oversized or too tight, the fashion statement would become too strong. Instead, this is a precisely aimed neutral position.
You can wear it with sneakers, leather shoes, or even business shoes.
It's okay for casual wear or work wear.
In a way, I think it's a very extreme piece of clothing.

The jacket has a cupro lining all the way to the sleeves, but the pants are unlined.
With the pants, the non-stickiness created by the uneven texture is excellent, and I think they're perfectly wearable even in midsummer.
The jacket, however, is fully lined because it tends to have poor slip.
