COMOLI Wool Silk Swing Top
Hello!
This is Nakayama from CASANOVA&CO.
Thank you very much to everyone who attended the recent nonotte launch event and Yamauchi's 2025 Spring/Summer season order meeting.
It's the height of summer, but in terms of clothing it's also the start of the fall/winter season.
At our store, clothes for the 2024 fall/winter season are gradually starting to appear on store shelves.
This time, we will introduce some clothing from COMOLI.
Let's get started.
Here it is.
COMOLI
Wool silk swing top
Color: CHARCOAL, NAVY
size_1,2,3
As the name suggests, this is a full-zip swing top with a wool silk fabric outer surface.
The fabric is thin enough to be used during the spring and summer seasons.
However, as an outerwear item for the autumn and winter seasons, it has been washed vigorously to create natural fuzz on the surface, giving it a look that blends in with the season.
The size is roomy enough that it won't be bulky even if you wear a coat over it.
Wear it as an outer layer when the cooler weather arrives in autumn.
As winter approaches and the weather gets colder, you can wear it under your outerwear like a shirt jacket.
Although it is an outerwear item, I feel that it has more than just the function of being the outermost garment.
Let's start by looking at the fabric.
As mentioned above, the fabric used is wool and silk, which has been washed.
Natural wrinkles caused by washing.
With this many wrinkles it doesn't really feel like outerwear.
A little closer.
Although the NAVY and CHARCOAL are made of the same fabric, they have slightly different textures. (It's hard to tell from the photo though...)
The first piece, navy, has a calm look with the smooth luster of wool and a hint of silk sheen.
The second image is of CHARCOAL, which has a nice color and a whitish reflection, with the rough shine of silk peeking through from deep within, giving it a masculine look.
Each colour has a natural look, and although it is a swing top, it does not feel sporty, making it a piece that can blend into your everyday life.
And this fabric is thin and light.
This is a feature that might only cause concern if it were outerwear for the fall and winter seasons, but you will definitely be able to feel the intention behind it with COMOLI's wool silk swing top.
It is not designed to be a warm and durable outerwear for autumn and winter.
However, the volume of the fabric is perfectly suited to Japan's unique four seasons, with its exquisite temperatures and climate.
In times of extremely high or low temperatures, such as summer or winter, the type of comfort you want is clear, so it's easy to think of appropriate clothing.
When it comes to clothes suitable for seasons like spring and autumn, when there are temperature differences between days and even within a day, it seems like there aren't many clothes that fit perfectly.
I felt that this wool silk swing top was designed to be as close as possible to that type of clothing.
This lining plays an important role in providing the right balance for each season.
The lining is made of 100% cotton and is quite thin, making it a breathable fabric.
The fabric doesn't feel sticky and is soft against the skin, without being heavy.
When you wear it, it feels more like you're wearing wool-silk fabric and cotton fabric layered together, rather than a lining.
It's light and comfortable to wear, similar to a shirt, but because it has the shape of an outerwear, it feels more like a sturdy jacket than a shirt.
I can imagine wanting to grab it when you leave the house, and since it has a zipper and isn't too long, you can just throw it on without worrying about what you wear underneath.
This may be a surprisingly good fabric combination with the swing top, which is a classic COMOLI style.
The details in every place are as detailed and meticulous as ever.
At the same time, the clothes still have a familiar and rustic feel to them.
As expected, the wrinkles that occur all over the garment from washing are a major factor in giving it a friendly impression, but the ribbing at the hem, which is unique to swing tops, is also actually a key feature.
The elastic is sandwiched inside without changing the fabric.
The border between the body and the dress has been gathered like fabric due to the elastic shrinking.
There are two evenly spaced stitches that divide the rib into thirds, which secures it very neatly and prevents any unnecessary bulge from occurring where the fabric and elastic overlap.
The design allows the texture of the fabric to be fully utilized, giving it a subdued, casual look.
I think it will work well when combined with a variety of pants.
The sleeves are cuffed rather than ribbed.
This seems to reduce congestion at the cuffs even when wearing layers.
I don't think you'll do this very often, but if you get a little hot while wearing it, you can roll it up.
Compared to ribbing, cuffs have a surprisingly high degree of freedom and can be arranged in many different ways.
The sleeves are also properly lined.
It was here that I felt that the attention to detail in clothing was characteristic of COMOLI.
Front zip. (The zipper is a small Riri type with a pull tab.)
of
This part hides the zipper.
This part.
If you look at the area where the fabric meets, you can see that it is slightly bulging.
When you touch it, it feels a little hard.
Only this very narrow area has no wrinkles and feels tense.
However, this tiny detail creates just the right balance when you look at the outfit as a whole.
In addition to the texture of the fabric, natural wrinkles that occur during washing give the fabric a fluffy appearance, but there is a wrinkle-free line down the center of the front of the garment.
It feels like they really take care of the appearance and atmosphere of the clothes.
This piece makes the most of the texture of the fabric and exudes the brand's characteristic calm atmosphere and high quality.
If you just line up each element of the clothing, it may seem like a strange combination, but there is a clear purpose behind it and it has been created with a high level of precision.
