"nonnotte".
We'd like to introduce you to a T-shirt that will remind you of the potential of cotton .
There are many different types of fibers, but ever since I discovered "Suvin Gold Supreme" by Kaneta Orimono, which they produced together with nonnotte, my feelings about cotton have changed drastically.
The same goes for T-shirts.
In recent years, the summer T-shirts that select shops like ours carry have started with wool T-shirts, but materials such as cashmere and silk have also become available nationwide.
I think T-shirts made from this material are very cool and great for hot days.
Some of the benefits of T-shirts made from animal fibers are as follows:
・Refreshing feeling with a smooth texture
・Your body won't get cold even if you sweat
- Less likely to cause odor
・Luxurious feel
Generally, I think it's these four.
The above four points have always been very appealing to me.
However, I think this is a process of elimination due to the fact that T-shirts are actually made from 100% cotton, but they have the following problems:
・If you try to make a cool T-shirt, it will end up being thin.
・When it becomes thinner, it becomes transparent and weaker.
・If you make it opaque, it will become thicker.
・If you try to make it stronger, it will become thicker.
If it gets thicker, it gets hotter.
・Very casual
・If it's too casual, you'll look like an American casual uncle or a boy.
Something like that.
First of all, I think that if you're sweating a lot in the hot summer sun and then go into a room with the air conditioning on full blast, your body is going to get cold.
On the contrary, I think that's also the best part of summer.
That feeling of comfort when you go from a muggy place to a super cool place.
Also, it's said that sweat in the summer is less likely to cause odor for all humans.
When your sweat glands become more active, they are less likely to produce odor-causing substances.
If you take a bath every day and wash your clothes properly instead of leaving them lying around, they won't smell.
Also, the cotton T-shirts that have been available on the market up until now have been made tough to meet market needs, and as a result they are thick and tend to be sticky.
It's hard for sweat to dissipate.
The T-shirt absorbs all the sweat.
So, I think that 100% cotton T-shirts have the problems mentioned above, and that's why fashion brands are trying to tackle these problems by making T-shirts that are not made of 100% cotton .
However, due to the characteristics of materials such as wool and silk, the quality of a new T-shirt will inevitably change when it is washed at home, which is essential for T-shirts.
For example, surface fuzziness.
When new it looks very beautiful, but once it starts to get frayed it can be a little disappointing.
Even if the surface of T-shirt fabric is treated to prevent pilling, pilling inevitably occurs.
This is unavoidable due to the characteristics of the fiber.
Therefore, T-shirts that are not made of this type of cotton, or that do not have a majority cotton content, may simply not be suitable for frequent wear.
As a clothing retailer, I have tried to put a lot of effort into providing high-quality T-shirts that are perfect for the summer, but in the end, I have come to the same conclusion now.
Cotton is best for T-shirts, and that's reflected in the retail price.
However, the reason I have come to think this way is that I have arrived at this point in my life after being active for the past few years.
Cotton is best for wearing next to the skin in hot weather.
However, it is absolutely essential that the material overcomes the cotton issues mentioned above and is of a better quality than animal fibers such as wool and silk.
I came to this conclusion because I had been creating things that I felt were similar through several brands, including nonnotte.
So, let me introduce it to you.
By the way, I believe the T-shirt I'm introducing today is already on sale at stores nationwide.
We also had them on display at our store during an event in March when Sugihara from nonnotte visited us.
But it's March.
It's still the season when no one is interested in T-shirts.
So, I had it lined up, but I pulled it out after about three days. lol
And I've kept it until now. Lol
In my original plan, I thought this would be the right timing.
T-shirts are best seen in real life.
Let me introduce it to you.
nonnotte
Standard T-Shirt
Material: 100% cotton
color _ METEORITE
size_3,4,5
First, this.
As mentioned above, the material is 100% cotton.
The thread used is 70-count two-ply yarn.
First of all, Sugihara said that at this point, it may be possible to say that this was the first time in history that a T-shirt (cut and sew) had been made using 70-count two-ply yarn.
Sugihara is the man who founded smoothday, a brand that had many passionate fans in the past, so he is a true pro when it comes to cut and sewn clothing.
Since someone like that says it, I think it must be true.
Sugihara herself said that in the past she had worn a high-end branded sweater (weft knit) that was made with the same yarn, but it was extremely thin.
It's 70 count, so I think it's quite thin for a knit. Generally, for spring and summer knitwear, the density is made much lower to allow for better air circulation, so the yarn has to be thicker.
It depends on what kind of item is being made, so it's difficult to say specifically what the yarn count will be, but you can think of a 70-count knit as being incredibly smooth against the skin, but also almost see-through.
And now, a T-shirt.
The knit is called flat knitting.
Its special feature is that it can be shaped while being knitted.
Cut and sewn garments and T-shirts are said to be knitted in the circular direction.
Something that needs to be cut and sewn is called circular knitting.
This time, since it's a T-shirt, it's "circular knitting."
As mentioned above, this T-shirt is the first ever to use this circular knitting yarn.
The reason why this is the first time in history is that due to the physical properties of the thread, if used normally...
・Slant greatly
・Fluffy
Shrink
This seems to be a disadvantage to T-shirts.
And if you try to overcome that, the development costs will be so high that no one can manage it.
However, when it comes to cut and sewn clothing, designer Sugihara is a true professional.
During the production stage, they apparently took a gamble based on their past experience .
Then, things started moving in a spectacular direction.
And it seems he saw it through to the very end.
That is this T-shirt.
This is a photo of the fabric, enlarged as much as possible.
Do you understand?
The fabric is called "plain knit" and is the same as commonly sold T-shirts.
However, the way the thread looks isn't normal.
Can you see how the threads are all pointing in completely different directions?
This is an original fabric that Sugihara developed in collaboration with Morishita Meriyasu.
The fabric is called "Hard Twist Balance Jersey."
Since it is a hard twist, it is of course tightly twisted.
It is a tightly twisted yarn, but it is also extra tightly twisted to keep it cool and prevent pilling as you wear it.
Apparently, this yarn has absolutely no fuzz even when viewed under a microscope.
And as mentioned above, the yarn is 70-count two-ply.
Whether this two-ply yarn is used as a single yarn or two-ply yarns are combined together, the twist is too strong and the yarn will end up skewing.
That's why we developed our original product, which makes the most of the quality of the thread while preventing it from deteriorating in any way.
It's called "balanced twisting."
This is made by combining four strands of 70-count two-ply yarn, two of which are combined so that they repel each other.
In other words, it is made up of a combination of eight strands, which is something never before heard of in a T-shirt.
Each pair of double threads repels the other two, so the thread does not skew or shrink.
The extra-tightly twisted yarn feels amazing on your skin in the summer.
Super comfortable.
Furthermore, it has a luxurious feel with the desired appropriate fall and shine.
This is the result of an unprecedented 100% cotton T-shirt fabric that has been perfectly realized.
Look again.
It was the first time I'd ever seen fabric like this.
The angle of one of the threads is almost straight sideways, and the other is almost straight down.
What is going on here?
This is what Sugihara calls "balanced twist."
And everyone, the strength of the neck is important when it comes to T-shirts.
This part is also strong because it is finished with the same thread.
Even after repeated washing, it will not stretch or become loose.
At the same time, because it is a super tightly twisted fabric, the yarn is very tight even at the neck, and it reflects light naturally.
This kind of luxury is very important for a T-shirt.
And, oh yeah.
The color is called METEORITE, and was developed using an original recipe that Sugihara selected from his vast collection of color samples.
I think it was the color of a meteorite, but if I had to describe it, it was like a mixture of black and brown, leaning closer to black, with a slight hint of white because it's cotton.
It can be worn as a black T-shirt, but when worn around town it has a completely different colour than regular black.
And this is where things get even more amazing for nonnotte's Sugihara.
The T-shirts also don't use flat patterns.
As with shirts, coats, jackets, pants, etc., the shapes of the clothes are created through "draping" using toile.
T-shirts are the flattest piece of clothing in the world, but that's not the case at all with nonnotte.
When worn, the T-shirt's contours are visible due to the "away from the body" outline designed by Sugihara .
So, from a different perspective, or to be more specific, it's a "T-shirt that doesn't show your body lines."
Usually, T-shirts have thicker fabric to hide body lines, but this one is different.
As long as you choose the right size, nonnotte designs the clothes to create their ideal shape.
I think this is an amazing thing for a T-shirt.
And the back.
The reverse side is also made of a multi-strand jersey fabric made from super-tightly twisted 70-count double yarn, which feels incredibly comfortable.
The moment you put it on, you'll definitely feel a cool sensation.
Furthermore, compared to T-shirts, it uses a lot of very fine threads, so it doesn't feel thick or flimsy at all.
This is a truly classic 100% cotton T-shirt.
It looks really comfortable.
Fine texture with a natural luster and drape of the fabric itself.
Of course it's opaque, strong and very beautiful.
As the name suggests, it's a Standard T-Shirt, and at first glance it looks like a relatively authentic T-shirt, but because of that, I think it's something that everyone can wear comfortably and that you'll want to wear when it's hot.
Sugihara aimed for a "drape" starting from the shoulders.
It is because of this drape that the T-shirt itself creates a shape away from the body.
It looks the same from the front.
She is 167cm tall and 53kg, and her size is the smallest, 3.
Nonnotte T-shirts are a little longer in length, and I have a habit of always tucking in my T-shirts even when I wear them by themselves.
That's why I'm always there when I'm shooting.
nonnnotte with COTTLE jeans that I've been wearing all the time.
I guess COTTLE jeans will be available around July?
Because it's a masterpiece, we're currently in the process of having it remade so that it can be viewed again.
We hope you will think of nonnotte T-shirts as feeling a little longer than authentic T-shirts.
Can you tell from the photo?
I simply tucked the T-shirt into my COTTLE jeans, but the fabric of the T-shirt naturally moved away from my body, so my body lines weren't visible.
This is the shape of the T-shirt that nonnotte was aiming for.
In the past, he ran a high-quality cut-and-sew brand, and he is also the designer who does the draping for all of nonnotte's clothes.
There are a lot of T-shirts out there this season, but I don't think there are any at this level or in this category.
I don't think there's any other T-shirt that can compare to this.
It's that big of a deal.
I didn't make it, but the quality is incredible, so you should trust me and give it a try.
If you are not satisfied with the nonnotte T-shirt I'm introducing today, then I have given up and there is nothing I can do.
I can say that.
And one more thing.
The next one has the same shape.
However, the texture of the fabric is slightly different, so it might suit those who want a more distinctive look in their T-shirt.
nonnotte
Standard T-Shirt
Material: 100% cotton
color _ GREIGE
size_3,4,5
this.
The fabric of this T-shirt is called "Hard Twist Ostrich Jersey."
Unless you have shopped with us, you may not remember this, but at our nonnotte event in March, we offered a long-sleeved skipper called the Slit Neck Pullover.
It's the same fabric.
However, it is 100% cotton and made from T-shirt material...
It has a texture I've never seen before...
this.
The fabric is so bumpy it doesn't look like a T-shirt. Lol
According to nonnotte's Sugihara, the machine used in Kiryu is a jacquard knitting machine, which "creates patterns while knitting," and the weave...
It was created by programming a "plain weave" pattern.
This is why the uneven, lattice-like pattern appears, which gives the surface texture.
And as for this yarn, I don't know the count because I wasn't asked, but it is also super tightly twisted.
The METEORITE T-shirt I mentioned earlier also had additional twisting applied to the yarn after spinning to create an extra strong twist, and this is the same.
Therefore, when you put this on, you will instantly feel a "coolness" that you don't often experience with cotton T-shirts.
In addition, to create this unevenness, within one piece of fabric...
・Difference in the number of super-twisted yarns
・The knitting tension also changes in a complex way depending on the location
It seems that this is what creates the unevenness.
I can now feel the potential not only of cotton, but also of T-shirts.
How many designers in the world can create such a difference with a T-shirt that everyone knows?
This guy is amazing. Seriously.
Seriously, I have ultra respect for you.
The previous T-shirt was made using the same yarn but with a ribbed knit, but this one has the exact same fabric on the neck as the body.
The rest is basically the same.
However, strangely enough, the fabric of this T-shirt seems to stretch a little after repeated wearing and washing.
The new size has been designed with this in mind.
Therefore, the initial size of this T-shirt is slightly smaller.
If you already own nonnotte clothes, you can choose your usual size without any problems.
The drape is achieved by using an abundance of ultra-tightly twisted yarn.
The back side, which comes into direct contact with the skin, is just as uneven as the front.
In addition, the wind flows through it incredibly well.
Also, this may be surprising, but as mentioned above, this T-shirt is slightly larger than the size dimensions of a new item.
However, after that, the dimensions do not change even if you put it in the washing machine or dryer.
It's that incredibly stable.
I've never heard of a T-shirt that says it's okay to put it in the dryer though. Lol
It's a fabric that makes you immediately imagine how cool and comfortable it is the moment you touch it and put it on, and I think it's wonderful that this is achieved using a material that everyone knows: 100% cotton.
I think it's a fabric texture that no one has ever seen or encountered before.
Also wearing a size 3.
You can see that the sleeves of the new shirt are a little shorter than the previous one. This is the same measurement.
Also, look at the draping that moves with your body.
beautiful.
This drape also starts from the shoulder.
The armholes are hidden by the drape halfway, and as you move, the sleeves appear from inside the drape.
This allows the brand to create the form it envisions.
This is also brilliantly achieved on T-shirts.
The same goes for the back.
When new, this T-shirt may look a little compact, but rest assured that it will stretch to fit your desired measurements.
Both of the two nonnotte T-shirts I introduced today will ensure you have a comfortable summer.
Also, your perception of cotton will change, just like mine did.
Also, for those who have had to wear T-shirts because it was hot, with this item, the look and feel will make them want to wear it.
It's getting hot, so I would appreciate it if you could consider it.
