nonnotte's 25ss <Suvin Gold Supreme and Jacquard Knit>

Hello.

This is Noguchi from CASANOVA&CO.

Today, following up on last time, it's nonnotte again.

This time, I'd like to introduce a total of 5 styles across two different fabrics.

I believe both are highlights of this season.

First, let's start with Suvin Gold Supreme.

These are the three styles.

Before I introduce each one, let me tell you a little about the fabric.

This is it.

Suvin Gold Supreme twill fabric.

I still vividly remember the first time I saw this fabric.

It was about two years ago.

Some of you might already know, but there was a time when nonnotte's Sugihara-san and CASANOVA&CO created a special order item using Suvin Gold Supreme, with the fabric woven by Kaneta Orimono and sewn by Fashion Izumi.

Just before that, I had been unwell and couldn't work properly for several months. But when I came back to the store after a long time, a sample (I think?) of clothes made from Suvin Gold Supreme had arrived, and all the staff were talking about it.

I think everyone could only say "This is amazing," but I still remember the scene and how deeply moved I was, how much I enjoyed sharing that feeling, and how much courage it gave me.

So, it felt like everyone involved in that custom project had given me a kick in the pants.

...Well, my personal story is really not important, but I believe it's something that has the power to inspire people, and I'm very happy to be able to introduce it again.

However, because of that, I could talk endlessly about the raw cotton and the fabric itself, so please come to the store to feel it firsthand, and then we can discuss it directly.

First, the blouson.

The shape is the same as the moleskin version released in 24AW, but the front has been changed to a zipper closure.

Designer Sugihara-san's idea was to create a light jacket that wouldn't need to be taken off indoors from spring to summer, and that's why Suvin Gold Supreme was used for this blouson style. I think the combination of the shape and the fabric is truly wonderful.

These darts & gathers.

They use an incredibly generous amount of fabric to create nonnotte's characteristic silhouette.

There are no shoulder seams.

This means that the front and back body are connected, wrapping around the shoulder.

Since there's a seam at the center back, it means that two large body panels, connected front and back, make up most of the garment.

The other parts are probably just the sections from the armpit to the cuffs, and the hem, cuffs, and collar.

Is it really okay to use such an expensive fabric and consume so much yardage?

This side view is also stunning.

I (178cm, 60kg) am wearing size 5, so the sleeve length is a bit long, but still, these sharp arms.

The shoulder and body are all one piece, yet there are distinct arms.

I didn't take any pictures, but of course there's no lining, so please experience Suvin Gold Supreme directly on your skin.

One more top style.

The Semi Mock Neck Smock Shirt.

It's a woven shirt, but due to the sewing technique, it can also look like a cut-and-sew top.

The seams at the neck and shoulders are finished so that almost no stitching is visible from the outside, creating a very unique balance that makes it look like both a shirt and a cut-and-sew top.

However, since it doesn't stretch like a cut-and-sew, it has three buttons at the back.

You should be able to put it on and take it off if you open at least two buttons.

If you're hesitant about the back buttons, try it three times and you'll probably get used to fastening and unfastening them.

While it's not oversized like a draping shirt, the distinct nonnotte silhouette remains.

If you feel like wearing a long-sleeve tee in early spring isn't quite right, and you're tired of just wearing a regular shirt, this could be a great option.

I think a set-up with pants made of the same fabric would be excellent.

It's incredibly clean.

When worn as a set-up, Sugihara-san's clothes create a very unique mood.

This season, therefore, we offer multiple fabrics so that you can choose matching shirts and pants made from the same material.

And these are the Suvin Gold Supreme pants.

They have the same name as the heavy broadcloth pants I introduced the other day, but the specifications are slightly different.

They are designed without an outseam, and the hem has a thin, rolled-up finish like a shirt.

Both these pants and the mock neck shirt mentioned earlier are unlined, so I think they'll be incredibly comfortable to wear as the weather gets warmer.

These are the three Suvin Gold Supreme items available at our store.

And now, for the jacquard.

These are the two styles.

First, let's talk about the fabric.

It looks extraordinary at first glance.

At last summer's exhibition, when I first saw this fabric and Sugihara-san was explaining it, I couldn't write notes fast enough, so Sugihara-san had to repeat the same information about three times.

Looking back, it was like a listening test, wasn't it? (Speaking of listening, it's exam season right now. Good luck to all the test-takers! Although I doubt they're reading this.)

To briefly summarize the content:

・It's a full-pattern jacquard weave.

Stefano Pilati, his mentor from his YVES SAINT LAURENT days, had such an all-over jacquard in his final collection as creative director of ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA, which Sugihara-san himself loved and still wears carefully.

・So, this time, Sugihara-san started by designing the pattern himself and created original plates. (Apparently, making plates is incredibly expensive...)

・The pattern design sublimates tribal patterns and their philosophy, as well as Japanese elements, while being inspired by African flowers and pythons, which were the season's source of inspiration.

・The colors are navy, black TOP thread, and bordeaux, making it appear solid at first glance.

If that was truly a listening test, I'd probably get about 40 points for this content...

That's how deeply thought out this jacquard is, and only Sugihara-san could create it.

We have two styles available in this fabric, named African Super120’s Flower Jacquard.

The design of the kaftan shirt evokes a slightly different sense of ethnicity.

There are three buttons at the chest, but even if you open them, your bare skin won't show.

Since there's a matching fabric underneath, it essentially looks like a crew neck.

The flower jacquard pattern appears and disappears depending on how the light hits it.

Since the photos are taken in natural light, the pattern appears relatively strong, but in person, it probably looks solid most of the time.

When the fabric moves like this, it shows a beautiful expression.

It's incredibly cool...

When standing straight, the arms fall in a straight line.

This is also very beautiful.

And the cuffs have no openings.

Given the fabric, it might be more balanced for there to be no buttons on the outside, including the chest.

It feels adequately voluminous when moving, but I think it's a volume that can also be worn under a jacket or other outerwear.

And the pants.

I didn't envision a set-up for this fabric, so I had separate photos taken.

The shape is the same as the Suvin Gold Supreme pants, with the same specifications.

These nonnotte pants are brilliantly beautiful in how the fabric flows and gathers from the hips to the back of the thighs.

When you're in a walking posture with your knee forward, a soft gather forms between your hips and the back of your thighs.

You can see from the photos that while it follows the line of the hips beautifully up to their peak, it suddenly separates from the body's line, creating space.

And when you put your foot down, that space is maintained, and the gather flows downwards.

Then, when your weight is evenly distributed on both feet, it falls smoothly.

In other words, the act of walking creates a repeated cycle where gathers form, flow, and then form and flow again on the opposite leg.

This is truly amazing.

It's beautiful.

You won't understand until you try them on.

The same thing happens with the Suvin Gold Supreme pants, but since they're 100% cotton despite how they look, I think the space created will have a slightly more folded and angular quality than with Super120's wool.

The pattern also appears and disappears with movement, making it full of exciting details.

Sugihara-san envisions these pants being paired with earthy-toned tops.

This is apparently because Stefano Pilati used to wear them that way.

Of course, we leave the styling up to all of you who choose these, but indeed, they would probably look cool paired with a denim jacket or a worn-out sweatshirt.

There's no doubt that this fabric is unique and irreplaceable, so please enjoy it with your own imagination.

And finally, an announcement.

This Saturday, February 22nd, designer Sugihara-san will be in the store.

He should be in the store until just before closing time.

In addition to the items introduced this time and last, you can also see the popular Balance Jersey series from last year, and the newly added Wool Tenjiku series this year.

So, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday with Sugihara-san.

If you're interested, please come and see.
