This time we will introduce three pieces of clothing from FAUVES.

First, let's look at the fabric that all three pieces have in common.
Made using a distinctive cotton fabric.
Hopsack is a fabric made with threads spaced apart like a net.
This is an original fabric from the brand that is made with tightly twisted yarn to create a rough texture.
It has a smooth feel against the skin and excellent breathability, perfect for this time of year when you sweat a lot.
The fabric is also perfect for this current season, but we don't just want to introduce it as "comfortable clothing that you can wear in the summer."
I think that even if you look at the clothes from a variety of angles, it's a brand that is full of appeal.
Whether it be the fabric, the sewing, or even the style.
A very attractive brand.
That's why we can confidently say that there are places where you'll have a first impression and think, "This is great!"
However, when I think about using them in my daily life, I feel like it's a clothing brand that makes me wonder, "I wonder if that's okay."
That's why...
I decided to try wearing FAUVES clothes to overcome these feelings.
I think that was September or October 2022.
In my case, my first impression was that I was attracted to the details and the size, which led me to decide to buy it.
Let me start with the conclusion.
"I absolutely love this outfit. It's my favorite."
The FAUVES clothes I wear were released for autumn and winter, so they aren't suitable for this time of year, but I wear them quite frequently in other seasons as well.
After wearing and washing the clothes repeatedly, they quickly became attractive and endearing, and I have a deep respect for FAUVES.
I don't think that if you overcome all your concerns about all the clothes in the world, you'll end up thinking that they're good clothes after all.
However, the clothes that FAUVES makes are clothes that respond to the decisions you make and the obstacles you overcome.
I think the appeal of FAUVES lies in its "unimaginable clothes."
The seeds for creating such clothes are scattered throughout the process.
Let's start with the CPO.
CPO stands for Chief Petty Officer, the chief of the United States Navy's non-commissioned officers.
It is made based on the shirt originally worn by a US Navy petty officer's chief, and features a regular collar and a large chest pocket.
FAUVES CPO also has similar specifications.
The buttons used are of a different design to those used in vintage garments.
Resin buttons with a marble-like pattern.
This button is also one of FAUVES' "seeds."
When new it has a matte texture, but with wear and washing it will polish and the beautiful pattern will become more clearly visible.
The texture is completely different when it is new and when it is polished.
Cowhide leather patch with brand name.
Even though it's leather, you don't have to worry about washing it. I recommend just splashing it in.
A future of deeper colors, stronger textures and a better mood awaits.
As I mentioned briefly at the beginning, when new the fabric is firm and has a flat appearance as you can see in the photo, but this changes completely after repeated washing.
After washing, the threads gradually loosen, the stiffness decreases and the texture of the fabric becomes more pronounced, creating a mood that far exceeds your imagination.
The other day, designer Fukuhara visited our store during an OLDE HOMESTEADER event. She was wearing a CPO and it looked completely different from when it was new, which was really impressive.
I was amazed at how the mood changed for the better.
If you look closely at the fabric, you will see that only the weft threads are made with a strong yellow color.
This ultra-maniacal use of color is also the "seed" of FAUVES.
After washing, the individual threads become loose and the colors blend together, creating a unique change.
The stitching throughout is done using either roll stitching or chain stitching.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it hits the mark.
Next up, RANCH.
Pants with a jeans-like silhouette, made from fabric of the same color as the CPO.
The waist is slightly smaller, so it fits snugly around your buttocks for a comfortable fit.
Features include thick belt loops and curved front pockets.
Due to the characteristics of the fabric, the pants will gradually turn white, so as you continue to wear them, they will likely change in appearance beyond your expectations.
The top button is the same plastic button as before, but its shape is slightly different.
Distinctive front pocket.
Personally, I like pockets that curve downwards as they are much easier to access and make it stress-free to quickly take out my smartphone.
The side seams and hem are of course rolled and chain stitched.
Finally, PEG TOP.
These pants have two tucks on the front, are roomy around the thighs, and have a tapered silhouette towards the hem.
Compared to RANCH, the silhouette is more voluminous, creating plenty of space between the skin and the fabric, and the fabric construction makes it feel open and comfortable to wear.
The coloring is BROWN and the fabric color scheme is different from the previous BEIGE.
The weft thread is a navy blue with a strong indigo-like blue tint.
The colour scheme is pretty cool.
I'm excited to see how it will change as it mixes.
Furthermore, PEG TOP has elaborate coloring for the sewing thread.
The belt loops are made of threads of the same color as the fabric, as well as light green thread.
I used light grey thread for the stitching that connects the body parts.
Changing the color of the stitching in different places takes a lot of time and effort into the production process, but FAUVES does this to match the color of the fabric and the garment, which is amazing.
The top button is also dark to match the color of the fabric.
These buttons have a contrasting color that makes the pattern stand out.
Once polished and shiny, it will have a transparent appearance.
I forgot to take a picture of it at the RANCH, but the front zipper is also an original FAUVES item.
The zippers are made of aluminum, so they have a rough feel when new, but will gradually become smoother with continued use.
The pull handle is engraved with FAUVES.
It has a locking function, so you can lock it by raising the pull tab when moving the zipper and lowering it when not moving it.
From the stitching to the attached buttons and zippers, every detail has been carefully designed to ensure that the garment will remain in a condition that exceeds imagination even after continued wear.
And above all, the hopsack fabric is a fabric that is suitable for each season, but FAUVES has developed to be something that can be worn for a long time.
The key is to explore different washing methods so that you can enjoy the unique changes that can only be achieved with FAUVES.
Of course, washing by hand is okay.
When it absorbs water the dough will harden but will go back to normal when it dries.
When using a washing machine, turn the garment inside out, fold it in half or in thirds, and place it in a laundry net together with a towel or something similar to prevent friction on the surface of the fabric.
It's best to put other laundry items in the washing machine as well to prevent them from getting unevenly distributed.
Due to the nature of the fabric, it will shrink when washed, but because designer Fukuhara has been making clothes from cotton for many years, the sizing is based on the fully shrunken size when new, so I'm sure the fit will be perfect.
This is an indication of the degree of shrinkage from when it was new.
CPO
Length: Approx. -3cm
Width: Approx. 2.5cm
Sleeve length: approx. -2.5cm
Neck: Approx. -2cm
RANCH, PEG TOP
Waist: Approx. -4cm (will return to original size when worn)
Total length: Approx. 6cm
Knee, hem: approx. -1cm
Because there are many unknown aspects of clothing when it is new, such as the texture of the fabric and changes in sizing, once you overcome these unknowns, the clothing changes beyond your expectations, reminding you of the joy and discoveries that come from continuing to wear clothes.
