New Fragrance from ATELIER MATERI

Hello.

I'm Noguchi from CASANOVA&CO.

Today, as the title suggests, I'd like to introduce ATELIER MATERI.

It's been about a year since I last introduced them between the end of last year and the beginning of this year.

During this time, ATELIER MATERI released two new products.

One is Vanille Carbone, released around summer.

This is positioned as an Eau de Parfum.

And the other is Black Oregano, which was just released.

Black Oregano is positioned as an Extrait de Parfum.

Well, honestly, I intended to introduce Vanille Carbone around August.

There were several times when I tried to write a blog post on the Shinkansen ride back from my 26SS exhibition business trip.

But each time, I succumbed to sleep. Lol.

And above all, I was fortunate enough to meet many wonderful people through exhibitions and meetings, so I was using my brain so much that I couldn't focus on anything else.

So, please look forward to the events I'm preparing to introduce some awesome new people starting next month.

...No, but even so, I should have been able to find the time.

Because such wonderful fragrances were added that it was worth the time.

However, I'm not trying to justify myself with an afterthought, but now that it's November and the temperature has dropped and the air has dried, it's a season where the way we perceive perfumes changes quite a bit.

It's precisely at this time that you can discover new things from both the new fragrances and the ones we've introduced before.

Well, it still doesn't change the fact that I should have done it sooner.

So, let's pull ourselves together.

ATELIER MATERI

Vanille Carbone

note _

TOP : Madagascar Black Pepper, Pink Pepper

HEART : Patent Leather, Incense Essence

BASE : Madagascar Vanilla Absolute, Madagascar Vanilla CO2 Absolute, Madagascar Vanilla Tincture

As the name suggests, Vanille Carbone is primarily vanilla.

It's a fragrance that attempts to express the true three-dimensional quality of vanilla by extracting "vanilla-ness" from Madagascar vanilla using various methods.

Because the word "vanilla" inevitably makes us think of baking, like "vanilla extract," many people might imagine a sweet, delicious gourmand scent.

However, Vanille Carbone, when combined with leather and incense, creates a deep and slightly shadowed impression.

This slightly smoky shadow truly enhances the three-dimensionality of the vanilla.

However, even with strong vanilla, the "fade-out" is clean and beautiful, with none of the usual stickiness often found in sweet fragrances.

The beauty of this flow from top to finish is a brand characteristic common to all ATELIER MATERI fragrances.

I might be wrong since I'm not a perfume expert, but I think mixing vanilla extracted by various methods creates that three-dimensional effect and beautiful flow.

By utilizing the critical point of carbon dioxide, using organic solvents, or even infusing the scent by steeping it in alcohol, various approaches draw out the character of vanilla.

Each method likely has its advantages and disadvantages, but it must be true that a composite approach creates depth.

That's why I think it's a perfume with a completely different kind of splendor and grandeur from the "vanilla scent" we imagine.

Among ATELIER MATERI's existing fragrances, I think those who like Cacao Porcelana, for example, will enjoy this scent.

I think it's especially good for the upcoming cold season.

Also, it's surprisingly not sweet when applied to the skin.

I can't say for sure, as this will vary from person to person.

However, I felt the impression from the blotter changed quite a bit, so please try it on your skin.

ATELIER MATERI

Black Oregano

note _

TOP : Cardamom Essence, Rosemary Essence, Peruvian Lime

HEART : Oregano Essence, Haitian Vetiver Essence, Australian Sandalwood Essence

BASE : Indonesian Patchouli,Oud Essence,Leather,Cistus Labdanum Absolute

ATELIER MATERI's latest work, Black Oregano.

Personally, I felt this was quite a new expression for ATELIER MATERI.

The top notes, right after spraying, are quite fresh and dewy.

With lime and rosemary, there's a refreshing acidity.

However, in contrast, there's also a definite tension of leather present, and the story of Black Oregano unfolds alongside this leather tension.

From the full freshness of the top, the bitterness of oregano emerges and blends with sandalwood.

It's like vetiver and patchouli are teasing the leather in between.

It's incredibly hard to convey, though. Lol.

In that regard, when I saw this visual after experiencing the scent, I was impressed by how well it captured the fragrance.

It's an image where the leather creates tension as if tightening, while the botanical freshness based on oregano stands proudly.

It's a great visual.

Extrait de Parfum used to be available in three types, but this Black Oregano is the fourth.

Compared to the previous three, I feel that a fragrance with a much wider range has been added.

It might be a good opportunity to check out the extraits again.

Finally, I'll put a link to the blog post I wrote at the end of last year, so please read that if you'd like a refresher on the traditional scents.

Please try smelling ATELIER MATERI again.
