Hello.
This is Noguchi from CASANOVA&CO.
We have received a new model from FAUVES called the NUVO Ⅱ.
It’s a newly introduced shape.

Although it is new, it has a familiar look and a quiet presence as if it had been around all along.
There might be nothing particularly novel about the shape itself.
However, I am confident that the moment you put them on, you will think, "Yeah, this really is great."
I believe this is exactly what it means to be highly perfected.

FAUVES
NUVO Ⅱ (Denim)
color _ Faded Black
size _ 2,3,4,5
See? It's ordinary, right?
For those of you who have been following FAUVES for a long time, even the name may feel familiar.
NUVO. A shape that FAUVES has cherished as the starting point of the brand since its inception.
And this is the "two"—the successor.
Calling it a "successor" is a bit misleading, as it creates a chronological order implying that the original NUVO is a thing of the past...

The NUVO Ⅱ has a slightly wider silhouette than the NUVO.
Strictly speaking, it is a piped-stem.
Meaning, it is a straight silhouette that falls in a direct line from above the knee and the thigh down to the hem.
So, it is not a wide silhouette, but a straight silhouette with absolutely no taper.
I mentioned earlier that it "creates a chronological order," but if I were to express it based on the temporality inherent in the word "NUVO," going back and forth between the NUVO and the NUVO Ⅱ is like moving between the present and the future. (At least for me).
But it never becomes the past, so to speak.
n-->
There are times when the NUVO is the "present"—the "now" feeling—and the NUVO Ⅱ is the future stepping forward slightly,
and there are times when it flips, where the NUVO Ⅱ is the "present" and the NUVO takes on a more anticipatory nuance. Something like that.
...I know that's very difficult to understand, but to me, neither of these two becomes the past; they are both images that move between the present and the future.
By the way, right now, the NUVO Ⅱ feels more like the "present" to me—it's "now."
I hope you all will sharpen your senses, feel it, and question it for yourselves.

I said it was an ordinary shape, but after all, this is FAUVES. That Mr. Fukuhara.
In terms of craftsmanship, there’s no way it could be ordinary; it’s built by stacking up non-ordinary details to land on a "normal" balance.
Rather than looking at it in the micro—trying to dig into every single non-ordinary point to understand it—I think it’s more fun to figure out how to digest this "normal" that was born from a series of madness within your own style, so I won’t give much of an explanation today. But, well, it’s seriously strange. Something is off with it.
Also, I heard something very good at the recent exhibition.
Mr. Fukuhara happily said, turning over the seam on the inside of the FAUVES pants, "It's right here! This is what FAUVES is, Noguchi-san!"
For me, hearing that made the round-trip Shinkansen ride and the morning train suspension and being stranded all worthwhile.
It was probably a detail that not even 1% of people who have seen FAUVES would have noticed, but it’s not about the knowledge; it’s when I receive that kind of passion or warmth that I get the most excited.
I’ve come to love FAUVES even more, and I’ve been able to enjoy it more.
If you want to get excited about the passion embedded in these obsessive details, please ask me in the store.

A black denim that has mastered the "ordinary" without any gimmicks.
The fact that it includes a finish is fresh compared to past FAUVES, but otherwise, it is not particularly novel.
However, what can I say—it is ordinary, but it is not mediocre.
Of course, I could talk about how the silhouette is outstandingly beautiful, the fabric texture is great, or the nuance of the finish is nice, but the NUVO Ⅱ has reached a level that surpasses such things.
About two years ago, I read a book called "Futsū" (Ordinary) by Naoto Fukasawa, and the existence of the NUVO Ⅱ truly shares something with what Fukasawa calls "ordinary."
It is excellent, it is mad, it is special, yet it is ordinary.
You will be able to feel it from the look when wearing it.

I tucked in a T-shirt for clarity, but in the fall, matching it with a compact high-gauge knit would be fresh for the current era.
When it gets colder, something like a hunting jacket would also look good.
It’s not just that the thickness is fresh; the way the hips look compact and hold you, combined with the four-pocket, no-tuck, piped-stem balance, makes me excited.
I think it will flip the perspective of all the tops you own.
Things that are game-changers like this are surprisingly ordinary-looking.
However, it is true that for many people, this level of experience is uncharted territory.
Put them on and see for yourself.
Even though it’s your first time wearing the NUVO Ⅱ, I think you’ll find yourself saying, "Yeah, this really is great."
I hope you take a look.
