More announcements today.
Our store, CASANOVA&CO, is currently holding a limited-time event for SILVANA MANETTI until Sunday the 24th.
And as I briefly mentioned in a previous blog post, things are getting even more intense starting this Saturday, the 23rd.
It's a "double event."
Recently, or rather, I haven't done anything like this in a while, but for various reasons, it's a rare double event.
And both events are amazing.
Starting Saturday, the 23rd.
"taupe D.Motoike"
"Artisan's belt" ORDER EXHIBITION
Mr. Motoike, of whom Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture, is proud.
As some of you may know, his father is "Hideo Motoike," the world's only "leather doll artisan."
In 2016, he became the first intangible cultural property holder in leather crafts in Japan, designated by the prefecture, and also received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award.
In 2022, to commemorate MOTO's 50th anniversary, he opened the world's first leather art museum, the "Motoike Museum," in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture.
"Daisuke Motoike," who was born to such a father and significantly developed the leather brand MOTO, has been active as the brand's top leather craftsman for "25 years."
After firmly establishing the family business, the brand "MOTO," he launched his own more specialized brand, "taupe D.Motoike," in 2020.
If you search for Daisuke Motoike and Hideo Motoike, you'll find an incredible amount of information.
Though it may not seem like it, I was also born in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture.
When it comes to Tottori Prefecture, it's either the sand dunes, Kitaro, Conan, or the Motoike family.
Seriously, that level.
Well, the sand dunes and such don't matter, but I'm truly proud that I've been able to work with Mr. Motoike, a star of Tottori Prefecture.
As mentioned above, since his father was a world-renowned leather doll artisan, Mr. Daisuke Motoike grew up with "leather" being very close and familiar to him.
From a young age, touching "leather" felt natural to him, like a form of play.
And to become a leather craftsman in the family business, he entered his father's workshop from an early age and underwent rigorous training.
He dedicated himself to leather daily, continuously exploring the material's potential, and from the age of 20, he even spent time in Florence, Italy, honing his skills to master the craft of working with precious metals like "gold and silver," not just as a "leather craftsman."
Mr. Daisuke Motoike, who has accumulated such craftsmanship and known natural materials for many years.
It is a brand collection where a super "expert" in "leather and precious metals" creates with his own hands in his atelier.
That is taupe D.Motoike.
Recently, our store CASANOVA&CO has hardly handled belts at all.
That's because I had been aware of the "Artisan's belt" from taupe D.Motoike for several years.
However, I had been waiting for the right moment.
Moreover, even for the brand, the "Artisan's belt" cannot always be produced.
As mentioned earlier, it is only produced when Mr. Motoike finds "the best leather for a belt" through his many years of experience.
It's not something that a select shop like ours can simply request to have made; it's something that Mr. Motoike himself will only create with leather he is satisfied with.
However, the truth is, this order belt event was postponed several times.
That's because, in addition to Mr. Motoike himself creating "pure silver buckles," there was the matter of the leather he would use.
An incredibly material that Mr. Motoike, who knows leather inside and out, told me, "CASANOVA, you're lucky."
Instead of the leather originally planned, we changed the initial schedule and waited until the very last minute, resulting in the use of leather that even Mr. Motoike said he had "never seen before."
I had also heard about that leather beforehand...
When I saw this belt in person, my heart trembled.
It is, without a doubt, the best belt I have ever encountered in my life.
I can say that.
My heart trembled from its depths, and I was deeply moved.
This is precisely the power that Mr. Motoike, who has been in this field for over 30 years,
chooses as "the best leather for a belt right now," the pure silver buckles he creates himself, and the Artisan's belt that he brings into being.
Something I've been nurturing for several years.
The time has finally come to unveil it at CASANOVA&CO.
And it has been completed at an astonishing level.
Everyone, please be amazed.
Limited quantity.
I will introduce the details tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
